Committee Nominations 2022

The Social History Society is proud to be run by its members. Our elected committee play a crucial role and this year’s election will be particularly important as our Treasurer, Jennifer Evans, is stepping down. Our Chair, Naomi Tadmor, is standing for re-election and there is one committee and one postgraduate representative role available for election.

The Social History Society is looking to fill the following vacancies:

1 x Chair
1 x Treasurer
1 x Ordinary Member
1 x Postgraduate Representative (to work alongside our current PG Rep Ella Sbaraini)

We are inviting nominations for all these positions by Friday 20th May 2022.

Once nominations have been received, information about the candidates will be circulated and voting will be open to all members of the society. Successful candidates will be announced at the AGM to be held at the SHS Conference in July.

To nominate yourself please complete this form. Do get in touch if you want to find out more.

Please note the following extract from our constitution:

Ordinary Committee Members serve for three years and are eligible for re-election on one further consecutive occasion. After ending their tenure, they will normally be eligible to stand again for election after a gap of one year. The tenure for Postgraduate Representatives is two years, after which they will be eligible for either re-election as Postgraduate Representatives, or election as ordinary Committee Members, depending on their postgraduate status during the academic year of their re-election.

Persons shall normally be eligible for election to the Committee after a year’s membership of the Society.
