Public History Prize Re-Open!

The SHS is delighted to re-open the Public History Prize, established in 2019 as a mark of gratitude to our outgoing chair Professor Pamela Cox.

The prize is open to postgraduate or postdoctoral historians within a year of their viva. Applicants are required to demonstrate excellence in taking their research beyond the academy over the past twelve months. Entries are judged according to the initiative, impact and social benefit of these activities.

The inaugural prize was won by Dr Chad McDonald for the travelling exhibition ‘James Parkes and the Age of Intolerance’ and the 2021 winner was Dr Alice Sage for the project and virtual exhibition ‘Photographing Fairies’.

There are full details on the prize pages.
